The French Bulldog Welfare Trust was formed in the late 1970’s by a group of Frenchie enthusiasts who found a need to coordinate the rescue and rehoming of Frenchies in need throughout the UK. The Trust became a registered charity in 1983. The FBWT is administered by a committee of five Trustees who run the day to day business of the charity with the help of our coordinators and other volunteers who have been helping with, fostering, doing home visits, transportation, making phone calls, putting together seminars, raising money and much more for over 30 years.
The aims of the Trust are the care and protection of French Bulldogs which are in need of such care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment or poor circumstances.
In furtherance of these aims the Trust:
– Will help in finding permanent homes for unwanted or abandoned Frenchies.
– Provide direct help and advice for those Frenchie owners seeking veterinary treatment.
– Educating the public in responsibilities of buying and owning a French Bulldog.
– Promoting the benefits and responsibilities of Frenchie ownership.
The FBWT relies completely on the donations that it receives. All monies received are used solely for the betterment of the Frenchies in need that are brought to the attention of the Trust.
The FBWT could not operate without the dedicated volunteers willing to freely give their time and effort to help needy Frenchies. None of the Trustees or area coordinators receives any payment for the help and support they offer to these wonderful dogs.
